Solar Eclipse August 21, 2017

On Monday, August 21, there will be a solar eclipse across the United States. This event will be visible in our area in the afternoon from approximately 12:03 p.m. until 3:02 p.m. During the eclipse, the moon will pass in front of the sun, blocking part of it from view.

Please note that although the sun will be partially blocked by the moon, solar eclipses are dangerous to watch without proper eyewear. Everyday sunglasses, no matter how dark the lenses, WILL NOT protect your eyes adequately. For your safety, please review these solar eclipse viewing tips prior to Monday's solar eclipse.

The Santa Rosa County School District website has more information regarding the eclipse - you may access it by clicking here.
