Becky Lancaster

Holley-Navarre Intermediate School

Our SREY entered the doors of the school as a substitute in January 2020, filling an extended leave as a paraprofessional in one of our most difficult classrooms.  She actively looked for difficult-to-fill positions as part of her “give back” philosophy in life. She quickly developed positive relationships with students and staff, standing out as a substitute overflowing with love, patience, and support to give to our school.  With her experienced background in school finance, she was the perfect candidate for our open bookkeeper position.   During the virtual school platform last March, she served our students, parents, and staff with a kind demeanor and a positive outlook. She delivered learning devices and materials for students, ordered necessary supplies for staff, and ensured that questions were answered for parents in a timely manner. Her presence provided a bit of normalcy for everyone. Although she has been part of the HNIS family for less than a year, this candidate has truly become the “heartbeat” of our school. Her bright smile and loving spirit make all stake holders feel right at home and special. She often volunteers for lunch duty, morning and afternoon duties, and participates in all special events. She even has a “Lunch Bunch” of CBSA students who have become her lunch guests during her own personal lunch time. This candidate skillfully balances her “special interests” to impact students and her responsibilities as a superb bookkeeper. An impeccable bookkeeper and an even more amazing individual, our SREY keeps the school running smoothly each day in a very positive way!
