Affectionately known as
"Senior Chief," our candidate is known, respected and loved by the entire MHS
Family. After a decorated career in the US Navy, Senior Chief decided to invest
in young people as a teacher in the MHS NJROTC program. In his years as an
instructor, MHS NJROTC enjoyed a sustained period of growth and service to our
community. This service culminated in multiple recognition such as community
service awards from the City of Milton, with Senior Chief being recognized by
the Mayor and City Council 3 consecutive years, and also amazingly as the 2012
MHS Teacher of the Year. At the end of his career as a teacher, Senior Chief
believed he had more to give and continued serving the students of MHS,
as a
paraprofessional in
the ISS
Coordinator role.
Assistant Principal
Amanda Leddy
has this to say about Senior Chief, “Mr. Rosenbarker is not only a
discipline leader who holds kids accountable, but he is a pioneer of best
practices instituting discipline and character building strategies that have
been copied by other schools around the district. He cares about the kids and
they know it.” But his service extends beyond the MHS Discipline
Team.
Facility needs including
desk maintenance and office equipment repair are commonly entrusted to Senior
Chief. Benjie West, Assistant Principal overseeing Facilities, and Safety says,
"Senior Chief is one of the most beloved figures on this campus. His kindness
and willingness to engage in any type of work cannot be quantified.” It is
difficult to imagine MHS without Senior Chief. Principal Tim Short sums up, “His
is a life of Service and Impact. Whether to his Country, his Family, NJROTC, or
building character in young people through ISS, his humility, sincerity and firm
kindness are depended upon every day at MHS. We wouldn’t be the same without
him.”
