Polly Wonson
ESE Teacher Assistant II
Hobbs Middle School

Polly is a mother, grandmother, previous school teacher, Volkswalker, Lieutenant Colonel in the Civil Air Patrol, advanced square dancer, HAMM radio operator, Eastern Star Worthy Matron, Trail Master, previous leader in cub scouts, girl scouts and 4-H, and a wife of 49 years.  These experiences make her an invaluable resource in the ESE department.

At the young age of 76, she is a kid at heart who joins in the spirit of things, whether it be dressing up as a "good witch" for Halloween or "Mrs. Claus" during the holidays.

She has worked as a teacher assistant throughout the ESE department with students of varying degrees of exceptionalities.  She has acted as a stabilizing influence in crisis situations where her calming and soothing intervention has brought compliance out of defiance.  Students naturally respond to her nurturing personality.  She is reliable, punctual, and dependable in her assignments.  The teachers depend upon her capable assistance in the classroom.

This amazing woman has walked in all fifty state capitols and is still going strong and looking to the future.  She is totally committed to her employment and thoroughly enjoys working with the teachers and students at our school.
