Balinda Cook
Teacher Assistant II
Berryhill Elementary School

Her sunny attitude is contagious! She's always smiling and truly loves the children she works with. This is certainly an accomplishment when you work with children with autism, as their behaviors can be quite challenging.  This summer she attended "Kids for Camp" program-planning and preparing activities for students with autism.  At school she has formed a special bond with one student who continues to succeed because of her assistance and insight.  For this reason, she continues to go above and beyond to learn more about autism.
Her team spirit is impressive! She's always anxious to prepare materials for students and teachers.  She's extremely organized and efficient in her duties and supports and prepares materials for everyone.  Basically, she will do anything that is asked of her-and do it well.  Her nickname is "Martha Stewart" due to her specialty in creating unique bulletin boards and displays.
She is also a valued member of the school's Relay for Life Team, working diligently throughout the year on fundraising.  This dedication has resulted in her being asked to join the Milton Steering Committee.  She is a true woman of many talents and the obvious choice for School Related Employee of the Year!
